Free Printer Setup Guide — WiFi, USB & Driver Installation

Method 1: Wireless Setup Wizard (Recommended)

1. Turn on your printer — make sure it is not connected via USB
2. On the printer control panel, press the Wireless or WiFi button
3. Navigate to Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard
4. Select your WiFi network name (SSID) from the list
5. Enter your WiFi password using the keypad or touchscreen
6. Wait for the WiFi light to turn solid blue or green (not blinking)
7. Print a Wireless Test Report to confirm the connection

Method 2: WPS Button (No Password Needed)

1. Confirm your router has a WPS button (most modern routers do)
2. On your printer go to Settings → Wireless → WPS → Push Button
3. Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router
4. The printer connects automatically — WiFi light becomes solid when done

🖥️ USB Connection — Windows

1. Plug the USB cable from the printer into your PC
2. Windows detects the printer and installs drivers automatically
3. If not automatic: go to Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners
4. Click Add Device and select your printer from the list
5. Print a test page to confirm the connection

🍎 USB Connection — Mac

1. Plug the USB cable from the printer into your Mac
2. Go to Apple Menu → System Settings → Printers & Scanners
3. Click the + button to add a printer
4. Select your printer from the list — macOS downloads the driver automatically

📶 Wireless Connection — Windows

1. First connect the printer to your WiFi (see guide above)
2. On your PC go to Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners
3. Click Add Device — Windows finds printers on the same network
4. Select your printer and click Add Device

🍎 Wireless Connection — Mac

1. Connect the printer to the same WiFi as your Mac (see WiFi guide above)
2. Go to Apple Menu → System Settings → Printers & Scanners
3. Click + and wait for the printer to appear
4. Select the printer and click Add — macOS installs drivers automatically

1. Download the HP Smart app from hp.com or your app store
2. Open HP Smart → click Set Up a New Printer
3. Follow on-screen instructions — the app handles WiFi and driver installation
4. Alternative: Press Wireless button → Settings → Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer panel
5. Select your WiFi network and enter the password
